When we ask this question to any Christian who follow a different tradition apart from the Catholic Church, they always end up answering, “Jesus Christ of course”. But when you ask them, “When was your church founded?”, they mention the exact year their church was made and obviously enough, we, as much as they do know that the year of their church’s founding does not match the time Jesus started to build His Church and could not be directly linked to that moment the disciples received the Holy Spirit in the very room where they were hiding because of their fear from the authorities of the Jews.
When we usually point out their founding and who founded their denomination, many among them always dodge saying that the Church is anyway spiritual or invisible, therefore uniting all Christians no matter how they believe in God.
Well, in some way, they might be right only in some spiritual sense, except when Jesus made His Church VISIBLE to all, for the Church is the Lamp upon which every one has to see (Matthew 5:15, Luke 11:33, Luke 8:16, Mark 4:21).
This lamp should not only illuminate the teachings of God, but it must be the authentic teaching of God, unbroken through the generations. We call this TRUTH. For the Truth will set you free (John 8:32). Genuine Truth does not divide but puts the puzzle all into its respective place.
If there is somehow a light of truth into what any of the more than 33,000 separated churches have by today, it is because it came from the Catholic Church. The Bible was bounded by the Catholic Church, and all Christians, even though they deny this can never deny the truth behind how the Bible was really bounded – That the Bible is a Catholic Book.
If a non-Catholic Christian is honest enough, they can start tracing back their denomination’s history and find the Catholic Church at its very roots. If their reason why they separated from the Catholic Church is because the Church is an apostate, has “evil” rituals, and has “man-made” traditions, then they are greatly misinformed and so ignorant they conclude with mere gossips.
For Jesus did promise that the Gates of hell shall never overpower His Church and that He will be with His Church until the end of time. Who will say Jesus is a liar? That He cannot keep a promise? That’s why his Church became an apostate after some time? That is plain weirdness.
Therefore, if you are a Catholic, be proud of it and stand firm, because St. Paul Himself has testified that the Pillar and foundation of TRUTH is the CHURCH(1 Timothy 3:15). Anyone who doubts the Church Jesus founded doubts Jesus Himself.
If you are not a Catholic, what is your great excuse for not being one? If Jesus says, “Carry your cross and follow me…” Will you say, “Lord, I will follow you all the way with my cross except becoming a part of your flock”?
Be a witness of your own denomination’s history, as for me, I will stay with the Church whom Jesus Himself founded. Even historians can testify to this:
